V-Ray 3.3 for NUKE is launched by Chaos Group

Chaos Group just introduced V-Ray 3.3 for NUKE, the most advanced rendering engine, that supports NUKE, NUKEX, and NUKE STUDIO. With V-Ray 3.3, the 3D artists can experience first ever node-based VR system together with , high speed GPU rendering, more than 200 3.x updates for V-Ray for 3ds Max and Maya.

V-Ray for NUKE facilitates the compositors to modify any 3D asset. The compositors can now obtain all the lighting, shading and rendering elements necessary to accomplish the project independently.

V-Ray for NUKE enhance the creativity level of a 3D artist by producing detailed renders for pitches and treatments, as well as integrating 2D and 3D in a fascinating new method.

NUKE’s first VR system comes with two new cameras, involving spherical and stereo cube maps.

V-Ray Standalone offers real-time, GPU-accelerated rendering to film and broadcast projects, as well as availability of the whole V-Ray line-up (bucket, progressive and V-Ray RT). With the inclusion of a V-Ray VRscene node will facilitate the team members to deliver full render-ready assets out of V-Ray for 3ds Max and Maya to NUKE artists (or conversely) with exact uniformity. The users will be able to view, instance, convert and manage V-Ray scene files maintaining 100% accuracy, devoid of their position in the pipeline.

Now artists will be able to generate a 3D scene through the identical nodal workflow applied all through NUKE.

The Sketchup X-ray Mode Can Move Geometry Instantly & Precisely

This exclusive sketchup tutorial belongs to sketchup skill builder series. By watching this youtube sketchup tutorial, one can learn how to transfer geometry instantly and precisely with the use of X-ray mode.

In sketchup, there exist various viewing styles. X-ray is considered one of the best styles that can be used for general purpose. In order to switch from solid to x-ray mode, just go to window menu and select style and then choose x-ray (last in the list).

The X-Ray facilitates the users to view through the geometry and model in an efficient manner. Devoid of rotating or cloaking elements just snap to something which is invisible, divert to X-Ray mode – while using another command – and instantly edit in place and save huge time. It is also possible to trap and resolve several leftovers which can’t be seen frequently, hidden inside your model volume.

X-Ray mode generally fades or hides elements in order to give emphasis on the one you’re dealing with at any given time. It’s very useful to model through a perfect workspace, and you can always switch to the rest of the elements or the complete model for examining instantly and re-orienting. The fade level can be managed efficiently with the Model Info dialog.

How to use sketchup for adding vegetation to any 3d models

The 3D modelers often find it difficult to produce trees, grass and plants and include these to their models. But the 3d modelers can use 3D Tree Maker, a useful sketchup plugin, to generate vegetation instantly and quickly. Go through the following demo video of 3D Tree Maker sketchup plugin.

Poublan P has developed has developed 3D Tree Maker. It supports SketchUp 8, SketchUp 2013, SketchUp 2014, SketchUp 2015.

This sketchup plugin offers the following functionalities :-

Generate 3D trees, plants, flowerbeds and grass with some simple clicks and include them to your model Explore through various predefined trees and plants templates.

There are completely customizable parameters to adjust the tree according to your requirements through a single configuration window.

Interchange from 3D trees to Skeleton proxies (ghosts) to lessen tree size of your models and at the same time perform inside Sketchup and come back to high poly 3D once final render is required.

Create new trees arbitrarily Save your parameters as new tree templates to reprocess it in other Sketchup models.

Instructions for making a tree :-

Prior to generate a new tree, close the Sketchup Outliner window to optimize the performance – Go to Plugins > 3DArcStudio > Tree Maker > New Tree…

• Select the tree type and clic Ok

• Set the tree into your model.

How to modify the tree configuration :

• Choose the tree

• Right click to obtain the contextual menu and opt for 3DArcStudio tree… > Tree configuration.

2 days exclusive training on DesignPH, a useful plugin for sketchup

It is very difficult for the sketchup users to create the design of a passive house. The objective of DesignPH is to make the process easy for obtaining the Passive House standard.

Here lies the importance of the designPH plug-in for SketchUp. It offers an excellent 3D modeling interface that completely supports the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) to develop a building model, allocate building components as well as choose a location.

This sketchup plugin can easily workout the annual energy calculation to examine the design instantly. As soon as a flexible design is accomplished, crucial building characteristics can be exported for being incorporated with PHPP.

In this regard Passive House California, is conducting a two-day online course on May 12, 2016 at 8:30 AM – Friday, May 13, 2016 at 4:30 PM (PDT). The course provides huge benefits to architects, developers, self-builders, building energy modelers and other building professionals. The attendees can gather knowledge on how to apply designPH for creating the design and certification of Passive House buildings. The attendees will be thoroughly trained during the building design phase ranging from building model formation to exporting to PHPP. Special emphasis will be given on iterative design to attain the Passive House criteria. There will be a case study that will improve their practical knowledge to finish and document a designPH model for building certification.

The objectives of the Course:

Develop a 3D model of a building in SketchUp

Ascertain key building characteristics, together with areas, volumes, and shading

Be familiar with using the designPH interface and avail the components database

Allot building components and performance data to the building model

Compute a streamlined annual energy balance for the building

Gain knowledge on rectifying the model recurrently to obtain the Passive House criteria. Export building characteristics and import them into PHPP. Gather and document data and calculations for Passive House certification.

Acquire practical experience in accomplishing a designPH model for a residential development.

Prerequisites: Participants should be well versed with Excel and basic building heat loss calculations.

Optional Course Extension: The participants can get the chance to present models developed by them once the course is completed. The participants get proper feedback on these models by paying extra charge for each model.

Course Requirements: Laptop with PHPP v8.5, Google Sketchup 8, designPH v.1.0.0, and MS Excel (or equivalent), all preloaded. designPH can be purchased at one of the following vendors: FourSevenFive, Small Planet Workshop
