Eneroth View Memory – The Newest SketchUp Extension

Eneroth View Memory is an exclusive sketchup plugin that is useful for different types of industries like Architecture, Construction, Education, Engineering, Film & Stage, Gaming, Heavy Civil, Interior Design, Kitchen & Bath, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Woodworking and other.

This sketchup plugin is compatible with sketchup 2016 and sketchup 2017. The plugin can instantly remembers and recollect a view at any point as well as exports/imports scenes. It is mostly suitable to generate matching views in various models.

This task is performed among models and even SketchUp versions. It is possible to recall any of the various properties like camera location, visible layers, section planes, style and fog, shadow settings, geo location, and axes location and exclude unnecessary one.

The plugin can also export scenes to a file maintaining complete control over the types of scenes to be added in the file. After that, this file can be preserved locally or be transmitted to another computer.

The plugin facilitates the users to easily re-utilize good scenes among models, e.g. keeping a wonderful style and fog, or generate matching views to view the advancement among file versions or match various design options.

The plugin can also be applied to obtain a number of matching scenes in different models to be employed in LayOut for producing equivalent drawings of various items or design options.

Another application is found while going to segregate a part of a project in an individual file, as for example; to minimize lag or allow different team members to perform on the project simultaneously. As soon as the geometry is copied and pasted in place, this plugin is utilized to also copy the necessary scenes over to the other model.

Another useful application is that when a glitch happens in SketchUp and it is required to copy the content of the model to a new fresh file as a workaround. In that situation, this plugin facilitates to transfer all the scenes over to the new file with just few clicks of the mouse.

Eneroth Component Replacer for SketchUp

Eneroth Component Replacer is the newest sketchup extension. It is used to quickly pick up any component or group and substitute others with it.

This plugin is ideal for architectural design when it is essential to substitute various components simultaneously. As for instance, test how the building will appear with another type of windows or to rapidly interchange numerous furniture. It can also be used for rendering to substitute proxies by more detailed components.

It is possible to choose a source component in one drawing context, turn off the tool and navigate to another drawing context, and after that substitute components there with your formerly selected source. In order to choose a new source whenever required, just press Alt.

By default the substituted components retain their axes (placement and scaling). As for example, a big table substituting a small table will contain the size of the big table. As an alternative, one can choose to maintain the bounds, i.e. size up the replacement to fit what it replaces, with tapping Tab.

One can run this plugin from Extensions > Eneroth Component Replacer or the toolbar.

Modifier keys:

Alt/Command = Select new source to substitute.
Ctrl/Option = Substitute all equivalent components in active context.
Shift = Substitute all equivalent components throughout model.
Tab = Toggle keep bounds.

How to generate gears in sketchup with circle, offset & rotate tools

In this sketchup video tutorial, Justin Geis provides some useful sketchup tips for generating gears with the use of circle, offset and rotate tools inside sketchup. You don’t have to use any sketchup extension for this purpose.

Some useful tips :-

While going to produce geometry like this, initially you have to focus on the number of segments in your circles. SketchUp does not have the ability to draw “pure” curves. As an alternative, the curves are developed with a set of individual segments, which are arranged by providing a number with the circle tool turned on. The number of teeth in your gear can be modified by fixing the number of segments in your circle.

As for instance, let’s draw 2 circles maintaining the similar radius, one with 24 sides, and one with 36 sides.

If the offset tool is applied to generate a slightly larger circle and draw in some teeth, it is possible to employ the rotate tool to copy the teeth around the radius. Here, the circle having more segments contain more teeth.

As soon as the circle is drawn, draw a slightly larger circle by applying offset tool. After that, draw lines to the equivalent segment points to start a tooth. The scale tool can be applied to curtail this line (hold the control key for constant scaling). It is the perfect time to choose your circle, right click and choose make center. This will arrange a control point at the center of your circle that should be applied to copy your tooth in rotate mode.

As soon as you’ve detailed out one tool, the rotate tool can be used in copy mode to produce the rest of your teeth. You may require to get into and remove some left over geometry.

Now, go in and detail out the remaining gear. While accomplishing this, it’s vital to recognize the math of how you’re parting your gear up.

If it is required to draw 6 holes in your gear, just split the number of degrees in a circle (360) with the number of holes required by you for creation. After that, it is possible to draw your hole as per your choice, then generate copies along the number of degrees you worked out.

After completing this, just remove your leftover geometry and with the use of the push/pull tool extrude your gear into 3d.

Blank Slate SketchUp Plugin

Blank Slate SketchUp Plugin is the newest sketchup extension that can include two individual features to sketchup. This plugin is compatible with SketchUp 2016, SketchUp 2017.

Feature #1 — 2D Nesting for SketchUp: the process becomes simpler to arrange the designs for laser cutting.

Export flat pack parts for 2D nesting to generate an improved SVG file for laser cutting. The automated nesting facilitates greater effectiveness by packing collectively 2D shapes for laser, plasma and water cutting. Nesting refers to a method for placing shapes firmly to reduce waste as well as fabrication time. The plugin can offer a quick solution for utilizing material in an efficient manner.

Feature #2 — Import 2D sketches from sketch iPad app.

Here, iOS sketch design tool, Zotebook, identifies your rough 2D sketches and converts them into accurate CAD files for laser cutters or 3D printers. This plugin facilitates the users to import files from Zotebook into SketchUp for the purpose of 3D editing.

How to apply domelight and HDRI in vray 3.4 sketchup to set sky

This sketchup v-ray tutorial is based on the process to set sky with domelight and HDRI in vray 3.4 sketchup.

Dome Light produces simple, artifact-free image-based lighting with significance sampling of HDR images. This method makes light tracing and global illumination process accurate.

The VRay Dome Light belongs to a V-Ray specific light source plug-in that is applied to generate image base lighting setup.

It is available in v-ray toolbar as dome light icon. Just click on it and then click any place in the scene to arrange the dome light.

HDRI means High Dynamic Range Imaging. It is a method that creates a bigger span or range of luminance amid the light and dark areas of an image.

In V-Ray for SketchUp, the HDRI can be applied both as a background and an IBL (Image Based Lighting). If HDRI is applied as background, just load it in the Environment Rollout/Background. If it is required to use it as an IBL, then just load this HDRI in the GI (Skylight). It will transform to a light source then to illuminate the scene.
