According to Mark Gregory how Sketchup is Best for Freelance Architects

Get help from freelance architect easily

Mark Gregory is a freelance architect from Australia. He is very eager to help small architectural practice for managing the workload so that they can spend most of the times in their actual work. He is involved in various kinds of high-end practices, complete schematic design, design development and drawing of construction documentation.

Mark Gregory fined lot of small practices struggle. Many times, these small practitioners have a lot of work than their ability of working. Many times, the freelancer architects do not have enough money for affording an experienced architect on a full-time salary. Most of the small companies don’t have much time for spending training and checking the work of an unexperienced graduate. That’s why to these companies’ freelance architect is very good solution.

Nowadays to these companies freelancing is good option because they have to pay for their need and they don’t need for providing expensive office space or software subscription. Mark Gregory has a lot of experience in the industry and a huge knowledge of construction and detailing. Mark Gregory is able to solve any type of design problems.

Adding Process of Reflection to Sketchup Models

A reflection is an option, by using that users can make the objects shiny and also add a shiny nice surface. Reflection is possible by using a ray trace renderer. Users have to continue the process when they found a non-reflective surface. Reflection on a wood or tile can be added to the photorealistic effects of a 3D rendering.

There are few types of reflections

1. Polished – It is a type of undisturbed reflection like a mirror.
2. Blurry – Tiny random bumps on the surface of the material happen and it makes the reflection to be blurry.
3. Metallic – If the highlights and reflections keep or hold the color of the reflective object then it is called metallic reflection.
4. Glossy – When the reflection is actually blurred then it is known as glossy reflection. It is also a synonym of “Blurred Reflection”.

The process of reflection

What he likes

1. According to him “Sketchup Free version for PC water-cooling designers” is the most likable thing in SketchUp. He said that SketchUp helped him to see that when the pc water cooling project completed, how it would look like.

Arielvision for Sketchup

This is a photorealistic rendering engine for Trimble SketchUp version since 2019. It is very easy to use. It is also affordable for the users.

Features

  • The lights and illumination
  • Background images
  • Realistic glass materials
  • Reflective materials
  • Integrated into SketchUp
  • Photorealistic rendering engine

ArielVision make the process very easy to learn Render. It is able

  • To set the lighting default that is preset for the users.
  • The material settings provide the need what users need.
  • Predefined materials make this very easy.

By using these software users have to use sun, sky, shadows, lights, transparency and reflections for creating photorealistic rendering from SketchUp models. Users use this tool at low price. By using this software users are able to set properties on SketchUp materials like reflections. It also has a wizard for creating different common lights. Users can create different good renderings by clicking a single button.

Live Components in SketchUp 2021

SketchUp 2021 is out fresh this year, and we have already covered its basics. Now we are discussing each of the new features of the immensely popular software in detail; today, we talk about the live components in SketchUp 2021. It is an exciting new feature with seemingly an unending amount of possibilities in future!

What are live components in SketchUp 2021?

Live Components are SketchUp’s answer to parametric modeling and more. When you want objects that change depending on data, there comes Live Components. Using these, your model will be more flexible and your design will be more agile.

Simply put, live components are ready-made configurable objects found in the 3D Warehouse. You can adjust various properties of a live component either in the Warehouse or in your model in SketchUp 2021.

All you need to Know about PreDesign in SketchUp 2021

We have already announced the release of SketchUp 2021 in one of our previous articles – real all about what’s new in SketchUp 2021 here! One of the most interesting features of SketchUp that Trimble announced this fall, however, is the PreDesign in SketchUp pro 2021. This requires a detailed understanding. Let us delve in!

The SketchUp 2021 PreDesign feature is for architects and designers who want to, sort of, test drive their creation a bit before it actually takes shape. That is to say, the designer can, using this feature, now test out the environmental impact of their building in the area, and alternately, the effect of the site climate on the building.

The need for PreDesign

Green building is all the rage now, and for good reason. The effect of climate change is making us all think about things like sustainable architecture and energy efficiency and environmental footprint. All of these can be estimated using specialized environmental scientific software (looking at you, Sefaira!) – and quite effectively, too.

Top 5 Sketchup Designs Around the World

SketchUp

SketchUp is a 3D based software which is able to create and edit 2D and 3D models with the push and pull method. Designers exile any type of flat surface into 3D shapes. Drawing layout functionality, surface rendering and plugin are also included in the software. In 1999 SketchUp was created by @Last Software.

Architectural design with SketchUp

  • Architects draw any type of designs very smoothly because SketchUp behaves like an extension of the architect.
  • Architectural drawing can be adjusted very easily. SketchUp is a 3D based drawing tool.
  • Architects render surfaces in an array of styles. Architects can choose any type of model that suits the design most and it is also able to please the client.
  • Architects add various special effects because SketchUp allows the use of multiple plug-in.

Architects are able to place their model in Google Earth, on the actual site.

Diyar Aydogan is the architect who built this beautiful building. He is interior architecture and environmental designer. His contact id is info@diyaraydogan.com. His website is www.diyaraydogan.com

For example, a live component can be a bookshelf that lets you adjust its shelf size, inter-shelf spaces, number of shelves, position of special fixtures on the bookshelf.

How did it all start?

A bit of history couldn’t hurt – so here goes how live components came to be. First, they have long been a big part of the user feedback. So, Trimble goes and acquires a NZ company called MatterMachine, and out pops a new modeling platform called Materia.

And this is what is used to build live components, since they are not simple models but objects that are programmed with modeling logic. That’s what Materia does – it imbues logic (and therefore, life) into dumb models.

Live components were released as part of a new segment of the SketchUp family called the “SketchUp Labs” (in fact, it was the first experiment cooked in this) on October 1, 2020. Then with user feedback, the feature was tweaked and made a part of the SketchUp 2021.
