“FredoCorner is the new SketchUp extension”

Fredo6 has released their new extension named FredoCorner which is an upgrade version of previous RoundCorner that become now a paid version to work in the corners and splits.

  • New Story: It is a nonprofit located in Texas who has partnered with Icon which is a company that creates printers, robotics and advanced materials to work on affordable housing solutions.
  • WinSun: WinSun created its first houses in 2013 using the first continuous 3D printer; they used a special mixture made of sand, cement and fibre along with suitable additions to print house components layer by layer in their Suzhou factory in China.

“TrueBend: extension inspection”

SketchUp is simple yet powerful software full of special and useful extensions and TrueBend from Thom is another one that allows users to bend geometry within a single click.

About TrueBend:

This extension can be found in SketchUp’s Extension Warehouse and it bends instances for a given degree, saving the original length of the reference segment and in recent this reference segment is the bottom front of the boundingbox. As this works at the bottom front bounding box edge so it is recommended that the instance axis line up with the bend.

Tool Functions:

This tool or extension is totally designed to help users for bending objects within SketchUp for a given degree or radius and it also allows users to bend an object while keeping the length of the object intact. An example will definitely make this matter clear: suppose a user wants to bend a shape which is 60 inches long along a 180° bend then he/she will click and drag the red bar on the SketchUp design page for bending the object. Or the person can just click and drag to enter a value in the VCB to manually set the number of degrees in the bend; here the magic happens, this particular cool extension allows bending object sup to 360° where other extensions such as radial bend in FredoScale, only really allow users to go up to 180°. His extension is just so perfect to use that while bending and working with; it holds on the length and bends exactly the same degree or edge as the users want in their model. How to resolve the issue while modeling in groups & components in sketchup

In this sketchup video tutorial, you will get some nice tricks which will be very helpful while modeling inside of groups and components.

Groups and components play an important role to make the model clean and valid. But sometime, problem arises when the geometry is invisible at the time of editing when the remaining part of the model gets in your way. By applying these tricks, it is possible to get a clear view while editing components. It becomes easier to edit inside of a group or components.

To start with, go to window tab and from the drop down menu click on modeling info option and then click on components tab. Here, couple sliders are available. Under editing display, there are two sliders namely Fade Similar Components and Fade Rest of Model. Under Component Axes, there is one check box called show component axes. Make necessary changes in the sliders to resolve the issue.

There is another option. Go to view menu and from drop down lists click on component edit and select either hide rest model or hide similar components.
