Draw pipes from lines – A new sketchup extension is just launched

Draw pipes from lines is the newest sketchup extension that supports SketchUp 2013, SketchUp 2014, SketchUp 2015, SketchUp 2016, SketchUp 2017.

The plugin will be very useful for Architecture, Construction, Engineering, Heavy Civil, Interior Design, Woodworking sectors.

The plugin can be used to generate pipes on the lines already chosen.

The plugin works on the following ways :-

  1. Choose the lines in the model where the pipes are intended to be drawn
    2. Activate the extension from menu – Draw Pipes Out Of Lines
    3. Provide units, pipe dimensions, length offset, pipe roundness parameter
    4. Press OK button
    5. It is also possible to copy pipes list from generated report

s4u to Components is a useful sketchup plugin. It supports sketchup 2016 and sketchup 2017. It is paid plugin.

This is sketchup plugin is mostly suitable for the landscape and hardscape design industries.

It is useful for transforming objects to components. It offers the following features

Draw Lines To Components :
It is possible to draw line and change to components with draw line component attribute.
Choose 1 Face or 1 Component for drawing purpose.
Press Tab or Ctrl to switch insert point
Press Up, Down, Left, Right for mirror x,y axis

 Lines To Components:
Change Lines to components with lines to components attribute.
Choose 1 Face (or 1 component or no select for get default component) and Lines to transform

Learn to create clear glass, frosted glass & mirror with v-ray for sketchup

In this sketchup vray tutorial, one can learn how to use v-ray for sketchup to create clear glass, frosted glass and mirror.

To make this tutorial, v-ray material editor plays an important role. Material editor is extracted from the icon located below VRay for SketchUp tool box or from Material Editor located at Plugins V-Ray tab.

V-Ray for SketchUp ‘s Material Editor contains three parts:

A. Material Workplace – It demonstrates all the selected materials. Brief overview of displacement map in v-ray for sketchup

The displacement feature allows you to deform a geometry with the help of an image. Deformation will work best and will be maximum for white images and for black images it will not work. The image should always be grayscale.

How to Import Sketchup Textures & Create Custom Materials

Sketchup features a pretty nice array of materials designed into it, however it most likely doesn’t have everything you’re searching for. PART 01- Making Component Database

The Dynamic components will represent anything in the construction world such as pumps, pipes, valves, steel, concrete or electrical instruments. The attributes that are assigned into the dynamic components can be simple pieces of extra information like Part Number, Cost and Weight. Attributes can also contain spatial relationships (like how two parts are positioned relative to each other), and behaviors (like animation and smart scaling). Some Dynamic Components are very simple (a pipe elbow with a part number attached), and some are very complex.

By the collaboration between owners, construction management teams and contractors, I can assembly, move, rotate and scale all components in the model in the way that all people want to. The objective of this collaboration via the sketchUp model is to get the project prototype in which when it goes to the construction phase it will not change!. To do this is easy, firstly show the everyone the prototype and walk them through the model as if they are playing game. Everyone can change whatever they want to.

LayOut is the program I have been using for making construction drawing. It links the plans, elevation and sections of the finished model to the 2d drawings within the 2D CAD environment. Updating and changing the construction drawings can be done more easy than conventional 2d CAD like AutoCAD, because the 2d construction document in LayOut can update automatically when the sketchUp model is changed or updated.
